Hi, I’m Rebecca from McGowan Family Law. I’ve always been a problem solver in every sense of the word. So, when I found myself dissatisfied with the quality of legal advice available back in 2007, I sought to fix it as soon as possible! As a result, I went out on my own and opened McGowan Family Law (a name I selected in my first year of practising law!). 

My mission is to redefine people’s expectations that high-quality legal advice is about making money. Instead, it should be about empowering people and supporting them in what really matters: their family, children, property, and finances. 

My team of dedicated women and I offer personalised one-on-one service, guidance, and support to all of our clients. My clients range from families to business owners, and I see an even mix of parenting and property clients from our local communities. We take pride in approaching every case with flexibility and assessing it on its merits. I’m proud to say that we truly take the time to get to know our clients and offer authentic and supportive advice that makes a positive difference in their lives.

Family law is just one aspect of our business. As well as being an Accredited Specialist law firm, we offer life coaching and meditation – making us more than just your traditional law firm! My team and I bring a wide range of skills and life experiences that enable us to serve our clients as best we can.

While it took some time to establish a network of trusted referrers, I worked hard and couldn’t be prouder of what I’ve achieved for the Moonee Ponds community. After all, my clients are making important decisions affecting all aspects of their lives, so I provide them with the knowledge they need and put their needs first.
